About The Position

Town & Country Credit Union is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, motivated Ag Credit Analyst to join our collaborative Ag lending operations team. If you have a sharp eye for financial data, enjoy uncovering the story behind the numbers, and want to play a critical role in supporting the growth of local farms, this role is for you! What You'll Do As an Ag Credit Analyst, you'll be the backbone of our agricultural lending process. You will support our lenders by conducting thorough financial analysis and underwriting credit requests. From evaluating risk to ensuring our loans remain compliant with regulations, your work ensures the financial health of both our members and the credit union.

Requirements

  • Education & Experience: A four-year college degree (or equivalent experience) with previous experience as a Credit Analyst in a financial institution preferred.
  • Technical Knowledge: A solid understanding of lending principles, loan services, and financial statement analysis.
  • Analytical Mindset: The ability to interpret complex data and make sound credit recommendations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written skills, with the ability to explain financial findings clearly to team members and management.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly master business-related computer systems and analysis software.
  • Team Spirit: A commitment to a "sales and service" culture, with the ability to recommend products that benefit our members.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Abrigo credit software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze Financial Data: Input and organize financial statements and tax returns into analysis software to assess the financial trends and conditions of business and personal borrowers.
  • Underwrite Credit Requests: Evaluate loan requests, determining performance ratios, cash flow feasibility, and the adequacy of risk ratings.
  • Collaborate with Sales: Work alongside Ag Lenders to develop business activities and occasionally join Loan Officers on site visits and presentations.
  • Ensure Compliance: Recommend loan covenants, provide collateral valuations, and monitor the loan portfolio to ensure alignment with state and federal regulations.
  • Prepare Credit Presentations: Complete comprehensive credit memos for submission to Senior Management and/or the Credit Committee for approval.
  • Support Portfolio Health: Assist in portfolio stress testing and reporting on aggregate loan exposures while maintaining a working knowledge of BND and other government-sponsored programs.
