About The Position

This position will contribute to the success and growth of the company by pursuing and capturing profitable growth opportunities in the aftermarket parts and service segment of the business. Technical application sales experience and strong communication and presentation skills will be required to develop good customer relationships and confidence in solutions presented. Key Aftermarket sales initiatives include the pursuit of the following opportunities: retort controls retrofits; energy recovery systems; automated material handling retrofits or upgrades; software upgrades; retort accessories; spare parts; service audits; training; and service contracts. The position also requires direct involvement in machinery audits and aftermarket project oversight/coordination.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Two to four-year college education is heavily preferred (AA or BS degree in Business or technical field), and/or proven experience and documented success in a similar position.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong key relationships and an active network of business contacts in the food and beverage industry.
  • 5-10 years of experience managing technical sales efforts with success.
  • 5-10 years of delivering poised and confident technical presentations.
  • 3+ years of field experience dealing with installations and field commissioning projects.
  • Ability to understand engineering drawings and related concepts.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and problem-solving skills are a must.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency w/ MS Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), & overall strong computer skills.
  • Must be self-driven/motivated, and able to succeed with minimal supervision.
  • Accountability is paramount.
  • Must be self-managing with ability to drive projects and tasks to completion with minimal amount of guidance/direction, and to take responsibility for deadlines.
  • Aptitude for working in a team environment & leveraging the strengths & capabilities of others.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with customers, and to be passionately persuasive about representing the company and its products and services.
  • Good interpersonal skills are a must.
  • Strong project management skills to ensure timely completion of projects in support of customer specifications and requirements.
  • Strong planning & organization skills.
  • Must be well organized, prepared and detail oriented.
  • Ability to visualize, document, and communicate an overall vision for a process or project.
  • Demonstrated ability to close deals and lead sales and engineering deliverables.
  • Must be willing to travel up to two weeks in a row, and up to 40% to 60% of the time.

Nice To Haves

  • Contract negotiations and proposal expertise is highly preferred.
  • Ability to use tools and perform machinery operation, modification or repair tasks if required.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively promote and sell by developing contacts/relationships with customers.
  • Analyze customer’s machinery parts needs and develop necessary parts kits and upgrades for customer purchase.
  • Independently and proactively contact customers in pursuit of leads and opportunities.
  • Develop quotes and closing orders by providing the customer with correct parts and pricing information.
  • Actively communicate and work cross-functionally with all department personnel within the company infrastructure.
  • Successfully handle inbound sales calls, & qualify, distribute or directly handle leads.
  • Drive responses to RFP/RFQ documents as required.
  • Develop understanding of Allpax products and be able to explain the features and benefits as well as match applications to Allpax solutions.
  • And provide correct solutions for customer needs (technically, functionally, and financially).
  • Recommend product enhancements or other up-sell opportunities and follow-on efforts to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential.
  • Develop sales proposals according to customer specifications, both independently and in conjunction with the engineering and/or other staff.
  • Develop and present technical information to customers in person and over electronic media.
  • Use computer and business/CRM systems to retrieve and leverage customer and item information including contacts, locations, and accurate item cost/price/availability/lead time info.
  • Maintain accurate records in the company's CRM system.
  • Proactively analyze key aftermarket sales performance indicators and develop strategies to react to the data and to sell aftermarket products and services.
  • Research and analyze competitive information, and leverage to improve our ability to compete.
  • Develop installed base data mining tools and leverage the data to identify potential sales opportunities and to sell aftermarket products and services.
  • Support Sales & Marketing to promote trade shows, association relationships, literature and advertising.
  • Attend trade shows as needed to develop sales leads.
  • Host tours and in-house demonstrations and FAT’s for existing or prospective customers.
