At Mountain Valley Hospice, what we do is personal—for the patients and families we serve, and for those of us who choose this work. We care for individuals facing serious and terminal illness, providing support that is physical, emotional, social, and spiritual. We also help our communities better understand hospice and end-of-life care. For those called to this work, there is nothing more meaningful. Looking for a nursing role with a different pace—without a full caseload and nonstop visits—but still grounded in meaningful, hands-on care? This afterhours position provides evening coverage from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM, Monday through Friday. You will be on call from home, responding to patient and family needs as they arise. This is not a fully remote role. You must be available to travel for in-person visits when needed, including urgent symptom management and end-of-life care. You will provide support to patients and families during evening hours, when needs often arise outside of the traditional workday. There is no assigned caseload or scheduled visits—care is driven by patient needs and may vary throughout the shift. Some evenings may be steady, while others are quieter. At Mountain Valley Hospice, we believe hospice is about living well. Our afterhours nurses provide calm, compassionate care when patients and families need it most—often during the most critical moments. If you’re looking for a role with a different pace, meaningful work, and the ability to be present when it matters most, we’d welcome the conversation.
