About The Position

Cherokee Classical Academy is seeking part-time After School Program Assistants for the FY 2026-2027 school year in Canton, GA. These assistants will be responsible for monitoring students and conducting the After School Program under the direction of the ASP Director. Candidates are expected to possess high moral character and align with the school's mission. The role involves creating a structured, safe, and secure environment for students from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Cherokee Classical Academy (CCA) is a tuition-free public charter school that opened in 2025 in Canton, GA. For the 2026-2027 school year, CCA will serve grades K-7 and plans to expand to a full K-12 configuration by adding a grade each year. The school accepts enrollment applications from families residing in Cherokee, Cobb, Bartow, Fulton, Pickens, Paulding counties, and the cities of Marietta, Cartersville, and Atlanta, without requiring entrance testing. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience working with elementary school aged students, preferably in a physical education setting or after school program required

Responsibilities

  • Assist the ASP Coordinator in developing and implementing a structured program of activities for students who remain on campus after school.
  • Organize, monitor, and lead various student activities, including but not limited to games, sports, quiet study time, and snack.
  • Oversee student behavior and discipline in a manner consistent with the school’s mission to develop students of character and virtue.
