About The Position

We’re looking for a patient, engaging entry-level Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support a child who thrives with movement, interaction, and consistent guidance. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, playful, and active, while also maintaining a calm and structured approach.

You’ll be supporting a friendly, energetic child who:
May show affection once comfortable (e.g., seeking closeness or connection)
Communicates using simple language, gestures, and by guiding others
Enjoys building activities like Legos and hands-on play
Likes music, familiar shows, and downtime with his tablet
Loves being active, especially outdoor play and water-related activities
Enjoys outings to places like parks and OMSI
Has favorite comfort foods like mac and cheese
He benefits from a provider who is calm, observant, and not overly loud or forceful, while still being able to keep up with his energy and provide consistent direction.

Requirements

• 18 years or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Current full-coverage auto insurance
• Ability to pass a background check

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with children or in caregiving
• Behavioral or developmental support experience
• CPR/First Aid certification

Responsibilities

• Provide structured support during after-school hours
• Pick up from summer camp and transport safely
• Engage in active, play-based interaction
• Support communication by recognizing and responding to cues
• Assist with transitions between activities
• Maintain a calm, predictable environment
• Ensure safety while encouraging independence
