About The Position

Intuitive Machines is seeking an experience welding Fitter to help manufacture Spaceflight hardware and support equipment for those missions. The Welding Fitter will play a critical role in the fabrication and assembly of aerospace components, ensuring products meet stringent industry and customer specifications. This position requires strong welding skills, precise blueprint interpretation, and meticulous attention to detail. The ideal candidate has experience in aerospace or other high spec manufacturing environments and is committed to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of welding and fitting experience in aerospace, precision manufacturing, or comparable industries.
  • Proficiencyin TIG welding (GTAW); certification preferred.
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and fabrication specifications.
  • Demonstrated skill in precision measurement and layout.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude andproblem-solvingability.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various positions (standing, kneeling, overhead).
  • Understanding of aerospace-quality requirements and traceability systems.

Nice To Haves

  • AWS or aerospace specific welding certifications.
  • Experience working under AS9100, NADCAP, or other regulated quality frameworks.
  • Familiarity with aerospace alloys (aluminum, stainless steel, Inconel, titanium).
  • Experience with jigs, fixtures, and specialized fabrication tooling.
  • Ability to perform minor machining or fabrication prep work.

Responsibilities

  • Perform fitting and welding operations on aerospace components using TIG, MIG, and other welding processes asrequired.
  • Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
  • Measure, position, and align parts accurately using tools such as squares, calipers, protractors, and precision measuring devices.
  • Ensure welds meet aerospace standards, including dimensional accuracy, structural integrity, and surface finish requirements.
  • Prepare materials for welding, including cutting, grinding, beveling, and cleaning surfaces.
  • Inspect finished assemblies to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with quality inspectors, engineers, and production team members to resolve fabrication issues.
  • Maintain welding equipment and ensure tools are in safe and proper working condition.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols, cleanroom orcontaminationcontrolprocedures (as applicable), and company policies.
  • Document work performed in accordance withaerospace quality management systems (AS9100 or similar).
