About The Position

Aerospace Sealants S&T Laboratory Technician Burbank, CA Are you a Lab tech that is looking to take your career to new heights? As a Aerospace Sealants Laboratory Technician , you will support new product research and development in the Aerospace Sealants department. As part of this role, you will perform a variety of tasks directed toward new aerospace sealant product development, including formulating sealant products from raw materials, testing products according to customer specifications, and recording/analyzing data for reporting and record keeping. In this role you will work on-site at our Burbank, CA facility and report directly to the Technical Manager - New Product Development, Product Line Extensions.

Requirements

  • HS diploma, GED, or similar is required.
  • One or more years of experience in a chemical laboratory or similar testing and research environment is required.
  • Experience handing chemicals such as resins, solvents, powders, and reactants or similar compounds is required.
  • Only U.S. Citizens, Green Card holders, and political asylees or refugees are eligible to apply.

Nice To Haves

  • AS degree or higher in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry or similar field preferred.
  • Experience with sealants, coatings, and/or adhesives in a laboratory setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily sealant formulation preparation, test coupons preparation, testing, measuring, analysis and calibration.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, wear all required PPE including the occasional use of a respirator, and strictly follow lab safety protocols.
  • Perform daily and weekly lab 5S activities and cleanups.
  • Collect data and record detailed results in electronic laboratory notebook and comply with AS9100D quality standards.
  • Work independently and with other team members to execute project deliverables according to timelines.
  • Identify potential issues and communicate with team leaders in a timely manner.
