About The Position

Apply fast: Message "PPG" to 412-968-8670 TO APPLY A day in this role When your day starts, you’ll open the ERP queue, review customer requirements, and plan First Article Inspections. You’ll balloon drawings, build compliance matrices, and verify in‑process parts using precision inspection tools and vision systems. Throughout the day you’ll update process sheets and inspection reports, resolve nonconformances with root-cause and corrective actions, and partner with teammates to prepare for internal, customer, and registrar audits—all while upholding safety and efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 2+ years in a quality assurance technician or closely related role.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality systems.
  • Comfort working independently, prioritizing tasks, and following through end-to-end.
  • Clear communicator who identifies issues early and prevents recurrence.
  • Computer savvy: ERP (QAD preferred), Microsoft Office, and customer portals.
  • Experience in manufacturing/production environments.
  • Role is primarily administrative/technical and requires strong computer literacy.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibit exceptional attention to detail across all QA and QC activities.
  • Follow documented procedures to inspect/test in-process product, finished goods, tooling, and raw materials.
  • Own First Article Inspection planning: interpret drawings, create ballooned prints, and compile compliance matrices from customer specs.
  • Translate technical documentation into clear inspection criteria.
  • Review new/updated specifications and revise controlled documents (process sheets, work orders, inspection reports).
  • Verify that work packages are complete and compliant (work orders, batch tests, incoming/tooling inspection, etc.).
  • Author work instructions, forms, test reports, and other technical documentation.
  • Investigate nonconformances; drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Use inspection instruments and vision systems confidently.
  • Support internal, customer, and registrar audits.
  • Contribute to an inclusive, collaborative team culture and follow all safety expectations (including PPE).
  • Manage time effectively to deliver high-quality outputs efficiently.
  • Flex between QA responsibilities and QC support as needed.
