About The Position

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for an Aerospace Precision Machinist Intern supporting TOS II, at Arnold AFB Tennessee. The selected candidate will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for supporting the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts. The successful candidate will be working in Design & Manufacturing (Model Shop) to assist our current Aerospace Precision Machinists and production staff by reading prints, loading programs, helping to set up machines to produce quality specifics for tasks assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma with 18 months of TCAT/Trade School or equivalent of 24 months of work history related directly to Precision Machinist
  • Completion of comprehensive vocational education/training including courses in basic math, algebra, geometry, and physics
  • Shop training shall include metals identification and fabrication, precision measurement, hydraulics/pneumatics principles and mechanical troubleshooting/repair
  • One year of progressive experience in the trade with equivalent acquired skills may be substituted
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance and the AEDC local area network
  • Regular attendance is essential to the efficient operation of BNH and is a necessary condition of employment
  • Must be able to work overtime as required
  • Current U. S. Citizenship required

Responsibilities

  • Acquire job skills and learn BNH policies and procedures to complete a variety of tasks
  • Progression and Completion of Aerospace Precision Machinist Intern Program Syllabus every six months and for the duration of the Intern period
  • Progression to the next step will be based on the development of skills and ability, and is not automatic
  • Read and understand work instructions
  • Assist setting up machines and programs, loading materials, and performing secondary machining operations as applicable
  • Understand and use precision gauges, instruments such as micrometers and inspection equipment to check and test machined products for quality and adherence to customer/task specifications
  • Inspect own work and that of others as applicable
  • Participate as an active, engaged work team member
  • Clean and maintain a safety conscious work environment
  • It is a condition of employment to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy
  • Perform other duties as required
