About The Position

Leidos Dynetics is seeking a motivated, detailed-oriented problem-solver to join our modeling and simulation team as an Aerospace Engineer in Charlottesville, VA. You will play a valuable part in developing and testing models of aerospace systems, to include air-launched weapons; ballistic missile systems; avionics; hypersonic vehicles; and guidance, navigation, and controls across a wide range of projects and programs. Requirements

  • Candidate must be local to or willing to relocate to the Charlottesville, VA area.
  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university
  • Can have less then 2 years of experience, or up to 2 - 4 years of experience to be considered for these levels
  • Must have an active Secret clearance with ability to obtain up to a TS/SCI clearance
  • Experience with 3DOF/6DOF flight models
  • Some experience with modeling missile systems
  • Experience in MATLAB/Simulink
  • Detailed understanding of the systems engineering process for aerospace systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to travel when needed by the program

Responsibilities

  • Develop and test models of aerospace systems based on provided information, research, and engineering principles.
  • Document model performance against requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with an engineering team comprised of internal and external team members.
  • Present results directly to customers.
