Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a full-time Early Career Structural Design/Final Finishes Engineer. In this role, you will conduct trade studies and evaluate alternatives - optimizing form, fit, and function of the primary and secondary structure and assembly; design, develop, and finalize structural arrangements and layouts with systems interfaces; develop structural design standard parts and fastener selection; and create Build-to-Packages for detailed parts, assemblies, and installations. The successful candidate will have experience with CATIA, SolidWorks, or other CAD applications and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical degree
  • Experience with CATIA, SolidWorks, or other CAD applications
  • Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with metallic and composite design
  • Experience with hand stress analysis for preliminary sizing
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience with Additive Manufacturing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment
