The Boeing Company is looking for a Aerodynamics Engineer (Aerodynamic Analysis) (Associate or Mid-level) located in Ridley Park, PA. The Aerodynamics Group in Ridley Park is responsible for the analysis and flight testing of rotorcraft performance, the prediction and measurement of aerodynamic loads, the measurement of both interior and exterior rotorcraft noise, and subscale wind tunnel testing of rotorcraft and rotor systems. In addition to these responsibilities, the analysis and design of innovative rotorcraft configurations, airfoils, rotor blades, propeller blades, and the outer mold lines of the fuselage is anticipated. Position Responsibilities: Conduct performance analysis of production rotorcraft as well as supporting the conceptual sizing of new rotorcraft. Predict airloads using analytical tools including, but not limited to, vortex lattice and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software. Support the acquisition and reduction of wind tunnel or flight test data. Travel is anticipated. Support the aerodynamic design of airfoils, wings, rotor blades, propellers and the outer mold lines of new rotorcraft. Conduct trade studies and formal optimization of rotor and propeller blades. Development of CFD models including grid generation. Development of aeromechanical models and any software development for rotor loads prediction. Support production program IPTs in optimizing aerodynamic design of external aircraft components (antennae, survivability equipment, etc) and their resultant impact on aircraft performance This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
