The identified candidate will be involved in all aspects of the product thermal design. This role is in Rockford, Illinois. This role may be eligible for relocation.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Aero-Astro.
  • Course work in Thermodynamics and Fluid dynamics.
  • Experience with Ansys IcePak.
  • Experience with Mechanical Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.

Responsibilities

  • You will be a part of the execution of analysis and thermal design of key components (e.g., motor drives, converters) and subassemblies (e.g., transitions and diodes, inductors and transformers, printed wiring boards) within highly integrated Electronic Power Systems.
  • You will have projects that include transient and steady state thermal analyses of of liquid and forced air cooled power electronics and natural convection cooled control electronics.
  • You will be using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software and internally developed tools for these analyses.
  • You will perform thermal data analysis from development and qualification testing.
  • You will formally document analysis methods/results as well as test results.
  • You will communicate with parties within and outside of own team to explain facts, policies and practices related to work area, influencing decision-makers with recommended courses of action.
