The EDSI Commercial Engines and Military Engines organizations are focused on delivering systems solutions to meet customer requirements, driving engineering quality and productivity, and developing the next generation if systems engineers. EDSI is responsible for the integration of components, modules, and sub-systems into world class commercial and military propulsion systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • 5 years of engineering experience, or an Advanced Degree in Engineering with 3 years of engineering experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of gas turbine jet engines.
  • Proficiency in C++, Python, MATLAB or VBA programming.
  • Experience in Data Analytics or Machine Learning.
  • Experience agile development methods.
  • Knowledge in Thermodynamics and Fluids Mechanics.

Responsibilities

  • Perform medium to high complexity analytical simulations and performance and operability studies.
  • Perform medium to high complexity steady state and transient performance comparison packages which can include data vs. simulation, model to model, control to control, and engine to engine.
  • Support medium to high complexity customer requirements and validate results for onsite engine testing, reduction of steady state and transient data, and other requirements as necessary.
  • Create engine trending packages to monitor engine health.
  • Revision of test procedures and instrumentations.
  • Lead change requests to models to validate expected results.
  • Lead system and design integration activities and lead project management activities.
  • Based on business needs, the incumbent may be required to support other duties/functions within the company and travel up to 10%.
  • English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English.
  • Works autonomously with limited oversight from manager.
  • May manage small projects or processes.
