About The Position

Varonis is seeking an AEO Content Engineer to enhance its visibility across modern search surfaces, AI answer engines, and community-driven platforms. This role focuses on accuracy and speed, operating at the intersection of content, search, and AI systems. The engineer will be responsible for how Varonis appears in zero-click environments, how its brand is represented by Large Language Models (LLMs), and how its content influences citations, summaries, and trust. Key responsibilities include owning the Varonis blog as a core AEO asset and shaping how third-party sources, technical communities, and high-trust platforms contribute to AI-generated answers about data security. The ideal candidate is highly organized, resilient, curious, and proactive in correcting narratives when necessary.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in creating search-focused content, editorial roles, or related B2B content positions.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), including the distinction between LLM training data and real-time retrieval (RAG).
• Working knowledge of Schema.org structured data types and their role in LLM entity disambiguation and citation processes, as well as technical understanding of how LLM crawlers (GPTBot, CCBot, PerplexityBot) operate.
• Demonstrated experience engaging in communities such as Reddit and technical forums from a brand or research perspective.
• Strong writing and editorial judgment, with the ability to make complex technical topics approachable without oversimplifying.
• A highly organized, detail-oriented, and analytical mindset with the ability to translate incomplete or noisy data into action.
• Enjoys finding errors, edge cases, and inconsistencies in technical explanations, especially when AI gets them wrong, and fixing them with rigor and speed.
• Ability to think in systems, understanding how blogs, forums, reviews, and third-party sites collectively influence AI answers, and capable of building a layered AEO framework.
• Actively experiments with LLMs and AI tools to understand search behavior and the reasons behind answer changes.

Responsibilities

• Develop, own, and execute the end-to-end AEO strategy to define Varonis' presence across AI answer engines, including setting KPIs, goals, and reporting progress to leadership.
• Build and own a content program designed with AEO in mind, focusing on topic clusters, entity authority, answer-first structure, and a publishing cadence that treats the blog as a living AEO asset.
• Write and edit across various formats and channels that feed AI answers (e.g., blog posts, product pages, FAQs, Reddit threads) ensuring technical accuracy and answer intent.
• Continuously audit existing content to identify gaps between published material and what AI models surface, keeping messaging current as the product evolves.
• Implement structured data, schema markup, and on-page optimizations to improve AI discoverability.
• Monitor Varonis' presence across Reddit, industry forums, and Q&A platforms that LLMs consider high-trust inputs, responding authoritatively, accurately, and timely.
• Identify and shape how third-party sources influence AI-generated answers about Varonis, building a layered AEO ecosystem beyond just owned content.
• Stay ahead of the evolving landscape of AI search and proactively adapt strategies.
• Experiment with content formats, structures, and distribution strategies specifically designed for modern search behaviors.
• Partner closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across product, sales, and marketing to validate technical claims and ensure published content withstands expert scrutiny.
