About The Position

PHMC serves as both a direct service provider to individuals, families, and communities across the region and as an intermediary agent — managing large-scale contracts, government and philanthropic partnerships, and multidisciplinary initiatives that require operational sophistication, strategic leadership, and deep mission alignment. The Program Manager provides operational leadership, staff supervision, and cross-program coordination to ensure high-quality, youth-centered, and equity-driven programming for young people ages 13–18. Grounded in Empowerment Theory, Positive Youth Development, healing-centered and trauma-informed practices, restorative approaches, and public health strategies for violence prevention, this role serves as the day-to-day operational lead for Ai PPA. It works closely with the Advocacy Institute Assistant Director to support program planning, implementation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and coach program staff, including supporting professional development, accountability, and team culture.
  • Deep understanding of trauma-informed, healing-centered, and youth-centered approaches to program delivery.
  • Strong partnership-building and relationship management skills with schools, community organizations, and external service providers.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, including data management, documentation, and operational follow-through.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple programs and initiatives in a mission-driven, equity-focused organization.
  • Strong facilitation and youth engagement skills.
  • Four years of youth programming and/or prevention program facilitation experience.
  • One year of staff or program supervision.
  • Demonstrated increase in responsibilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, public health, human services, or a related field.

  • Professional training in trauma, counseling, art therapy, social work, or related human services fields preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the day-to-day operational lead for Ai Philly Peace Ambassadors programming, ensuring timely, high-quality, and youth-centered implementation.
  • Lead cohort- and project-level evaluation activities to assess program outcomes, participant experiences, and program quality, primarily serving as the primary contact for PHMC Research & Evaluation Group.
  • Lead funder reporting requirements for CATCH My Breath, Ai Philly Peace Ambassadors, and related initiatives, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with grant deliverables.
  • Support the AI Assistant Director in program planning, implementation, and continuous improvement, escalating challenges and recommendations as they arrive.
  • Operationalize the development and maintenance of departmental standard operating procedures to strengthen operational consistency and accountability.
  • Supervise the assigned Ai Philly Peace Ambassadors team members and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and professional development support.
  • Assists with program recruitment and hiring of new staff.
  • Drive and manage the implementation of the Advocacy Institute’s onboarding plan for new program staff.
  • Support the scheduling, planning, and facilitation of the Ai Philly team meetings, including developing agendas and supporting follow-up on action items.
  • Foster a collaborative, supportive, and trauma-informed team culture centered on youth well-being and staff sustainability.
  • Assists with writing of funding proposals, work statements, and program reports of activities and outcomes.
  • Assists with publicizing the program and program outcomes, including abstracts, posters, and presentations.
  • Support the Ai team in developing and coordinating wraparound service operations to support Ai Philly Peace Ambassadors participants.
  • Oversee partner engagement to ensure services are responsive to the needs of young people experiencing barriers such as housing instability, food insecurity, and other structural challenges.
  • Support alignment between wraparound services and core program goals, outcomes, and participant supports.
  • Manage and strengthen cross-program collaboration across Advocacy Institute initiatives, including supporting legislative advocacy and youth-led PSE Projects.
  • Advance operational readiness for new and expanding initiatives, including staffing coordination, timelines, and implementation supports.
