About The Position

At Bank of America, the Advisor Development Program is designed for individuals passionate about growing a long-term career and improving clients' financial lives. This program offers comprehensive training from the Academy at Bank of America, including hands-on practice, personalized coaching, and dedicated support. The journey begins with obtaining Securities Industry licenses (SIE, Series 7, and Series 66) through structured classes. Upon successful licensing, participants will learn foundational advisor skills, such as client acquisition, relationship management, and providing holistic financial advice and solutions tailored to complex financial pictures. As a Financial Solutions Advisor within the centralized segment, the role involves phone-based client interaction to provide advice and guidance, identifying investment, savings, and liability management solutions, and aligning Merrill and Bank of America products. Successful Financial Solutions Advisors will typically progress to a Merrill Financial Solutions Advisor role within Merrill Wealth Management, with continuous support and resources from the Academy. This position is subject to SAFE Act registration requirements, including a background check.

  • Subject to SAFE Act registration requirements, background check, and registration process.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong computer skills with an ability to multitask in a demanding environment.
  • A bachelor’s degree.
  • 1-2 years’ experience working in the financial service industry and/or a sales environment where goals were met or exceeded.
  • Experience assessing client needs, identifying/recommending solutions, and building/managing client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, and Series 66 licenses within specified timeframes (SIE within 60 days, Series 7 & 66 within 120 days).
  • Acquire, build, and manage client relationships.
  • Consider a client’s complex financial picture and guide them with advice and solutions.
  • Provide holistic financial advice and guidance to clients (phone-based).
  • Identify broader product and service solutions that meet clients' investment, savings, and liability management needs.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of investments and financial markets and apply key principles appropriately.
  • Align Merrill and Bank of America products and services where appropriate.
  • Work with both affluent and high net worth clients.
  • Identify client needs, develop relationships, review investment goals, and prepare investment recommendations.
  • Provide end-to-end comprehensive advice and deliver client reviews/presentations.
  • Recommend strategies to help clients achieve their financial goals and life priorities.
  • Collaborate with core banking and investment partners to connect clients to all available solutions.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients by providing exceptional client care.
  • Incorporate relevant regulatory due diligence into daily tasks and long-term strategies for clients.
