About The Position

Southern California News Group is seeking an Advertising Sales Executive to join our team! The role is responsible for driving new business revenue for our in-house creative and content marketing division Skyline Studio. You will focus on prospecting, building client relationships, and closing new business opportunities across digital, print, and branded content platforms. This is a pure sales role for a motivated hunter who thrives on outbound prospecting, cold calling, and exceeding goals.

Requirements

  • Proven Sales Success: Over two years of advertising/media sales experience, with a track record of driving revenue and closing deals in digital media or online advertising sales
  • Hunter Mentality: A relentless drive to prospect and close new business. Comfortable with cold calling, outreach, and handling rejection while maintaining a positive, proactive attitude
  • Contract Negotiation Skills: Demonstrated ability to negotiate multi-variable contracts and successfully close new business deals
  • Positive and Entrepreneurial Attitude: Bring a positive and entrepreneurial spirit to the team, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment
  • Sales Techniques Expertise: Skilled in lead generation, outreach, and closing with proficiency in sales platforms such as Salesforce and Outreach

Nice To Haves

  • Consultative selling or solution-based sales experience
  • Local Ad Sales experience
  • Experience selling influencer marketing, experiential, video production, television, radio, magazines, or digital media solutions

Responsibilities

  • Proactively Prospect, Qualify and Close: Own the full sales process from generating prospects to closing deals, with 100% focus on new business opportunities (no leads provided - all leads must be self-generated)
  • Create Compelling Sales Presentations: Develop and deliver solution-based proposals that effectively promote our advertising and marketing services
  • Cultivate Long-Term Relationships: Build and maintain partnerships with clients to ensure continued success, renewals, and referrals
  • Strategic Targeting: Research, prioritize, and target prospects using multiple lead sources, aligning their audience segments with SCNG/Skyline/Adtaxi products, including print, digital display, branded content, influencer marketing, video, CTV, DOOH, mobile, and social media
  • Stay Informed on Industry Trends: Monitor and understand current trends in digital and traditional advertising to position our products effectively
  • Expert Sales Knowledge: Demonstrate strong understanding of online media channels and how they integrate with offline executions to create holistic client solutions
  • Analyze Sales Metrics: Track sales performance, identify growth opportunities, and adjust strategies to achieve success
  • Collaborate Internally: Partner with internal teams to develop compelling and effective media solutions for advertisers
  • Exercise strong Communication and Time Management: Excellent presentation, organization, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Benefits

  • The salary range is $75,000 - $85,000 + incentive compensation (commission), cell phone, and mileage reimbursement.
