As an NBCUniversal Academic Year intern, you’ll work on real projects, be part of our collaborative culture, and get the support you need to grow - across two full semesters. The Advertising & Partnerships division is a multifaceted organization that connects the content portfolio of NBCUniversal to advertisers, brand partners, and consumers. The division is broken out broadly into five core business areas: Ad Sales, which manages relationships with agencies and businesses of all sizes; Advertising Product & Solutions, which develops, operationalizes, and scales the products and solutions that enable innovation, automation, and performance across our ad sales ecosystem; Strategy which uses research and data to guide big-picture decisions across content and advertising; Enterprise Marketing & Communications, which manages NBCUniversal's brand and storytelling across the marketplace, and Platform Monetization, which owns and optimizes the entire Pitch-to-Pay process, from building and pricing innovative plans to delivering industry-leading customer service, and driving growth through upsells and renewals. Together, these groups combine to support the division's mission to be the industry's most valuable partner for maximizing media effectiveness for clients of all sizes.

Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2026 through April 2027).
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027.
  • Must be willing to work in New York, NY.
  • Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Excel and Outlook proficiency.
  • Interest of campaign management and client services.
  • Inquisitive and eager to learn.
  • For Strategy: Familiarity with statistical analysis tools like R, SPSS and/or SAS preferred.
  • For Project Management: Currently pursuing a degree in business, communications, technology, media, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • For Project Management: Interest in program management, product development, advertising technology, and/or media businesses.
  • For Project Management: Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • For Project Management: Strong communication skills and comfort working with a variety of teams and stakeholders.
  • For Project Management: Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks at once.
  • For Project Management: Willingness to learn project tracking and workflow tools such as Jira or Smartsheet.

Responsibilities

  • Drive advertising and revenue across NBCU’s linear, streaming, and social platforms by managing client and agency relationships, developing new business, and supporting the full sales process, advertising strategy, and cross-department collaboration.
  • Enhance effectiveness across Ad Sales by developing best practices, tools, and expertise that improve efficiency, innovation, and consistency.
  • Streamline processes and equip teams with the skills and resources to sell priority products effectively, fostering a culture of continuous growth and long-term business success.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and align their business goals with NBCU’s full portfolio of media assets.
  • Collaborate across Sales, Marketing, Research, and Strategy to deliver custom solutions that drive client results and NBCU revenue, positioning NBCU as a strategic partner rather than just a media vendor.
  • Support the full advertising lifecycle—from campaign setup to billing—by working closely with Sales, Planning, and Finance to ensure accurate invoicing, manage account details, and resolve issues.
  • Play a critical role in keeping campaigns running smoothly and delivering timely, accurate service across NBCU’s platforms.
  • Use research and data to guide big-picture decisions across content and advertising.
  • Analyze audience behavior, industry trends, and streaming performance (especially for Peacock) to inform smarter sales strategies, innovative ad solutions, and stronger connections between brands and viewers.
  • Lead and enhance the full Pitch-to-Pay lifecycle—spanning the creation and pricing of innovative offerings, seamless execution, and best-in-class customer support.
  • Play a critical role in accelerating revenue growth through strategic upselling and renewals, while continuously improving the client experience.
