About The Position

Lead multi-day adventure trips (ranging from 1 to 5 weeks long) for groups of 4-10 teens in backcountry and front-country settings. Responsible for route planning, navigation, campsite management, and safe execution of trip itineraries. Must have strong backpacking and camping skills, experience managing group dynamics, and confidence leading adolescents in wilderness environments. Should be organized, calm under pressure, and comfortable making decisions in changing conditions. Oversee daily logistics, including meal preparation, gear management, Leave No Trace practices, and risk assessment. Foster positive group culture through intentional facilitation, team-building activities, and supportive leadership. Communicate with the camp leadership team regarding trip progress, needs, and any challenges that arise, ensuring a safe, meaningful, and growth-focused experience for all participants.

Requirements

Strong backpacking and camping skills
Experience managing group dynamics
Confidence leading adolescents in wilderness environments
Organized
Calm under pressure
Comfortable making decisions in changing conditions
Minimum age of 21 for Leader & 18 for Guide
Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple duties
Wilderness First Aid and CPR are required certifications for all positions within 30 days of hire

Nice To Haves

Valid driver’s license (Leader)
Lifeguard certification, or the ability to be trained
