About The Position

Serves as the central coordination point for college advancement activities/projects At the direction of the Assistant Dean of Development, collaborates with University Development & Alumni Engagement to support in strategy development and stewardship activities for major donor prospects, corporate partners, advisory board members, Cal Poly friends, and alumni. Makes independent decisions regarding day-to-day college advancement operations. Serves as first point of contact for donor inquiries into the college. Assists in the donor cultivation process and stewardship activities, including correspondence, tours, gifts, and in-person visits. Responsible for coordinating and organizing meetings with special visitors, collaborating with campus partners and vendors to arrange event logistics such as menus, catering, and parking. Inputs contact reports and other sensitive data into the advancement system. Works with data to create reports and perform basic analysis on that data. Processes gifts and transactions in accordance with university policy and procedures in a timely and efficient manner. Submits travel requests and reports through the Concur system on behalf of all OCOB gift officers. Supervises student assistants, as well as approving student assistants’ time sheets. Completes special projects as assigned. Experience with Asana preferred.

Requirements

  • Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Relevant education and/or experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis
  • Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment.
  • The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants for staff and management positions must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
