About The Position

As an Advanced Technical Writing Specialist at General Dynamics Mission Systems, you will play a crucial role in creating, developing, planning, writing, and editing complex operational, instructional, and interactive electronic technical manuals (IETMs), maintenance, or test procedures for various publication formats. You will act as the primary technical editor on client deliverables, ensuring that all assigned deliverables meet editorial and document governance standards for quality and style. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related specialized area or field, or equivalent plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Department of Defense Secret security clearance required at time of hire.
• Fully proficient understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards required of technical publications.
• Excellent editing, written, English, and grammar skills.

Responsibilities

• Create, develop, plan, write, and edit complex operational, instructional, and interactive electronic technical manuals (IETMs).
• Act as the primary technical editor on client deliverables.
• Implement editorial and document governance standards for quality and style.
• Collaborate with engineers and technical illustrators to develop branding for documents and presentations.
• Design and deliver templates for PowerPoint, LaTeX, and MS Word.
• Produce a style and standards guide, color palette, and branding guide.
• Develop executive summaries and training materials.
• Maintain visual style guides and branding standards.
