About The Position

JOB OVERVIEW: The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) provides independent, comprehensive patient care in an outpatient clinical setting. This role is responsible for managing a dedicated clinic five days per week, focusing on evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients. This position does not include surgical responsibilities. The APRN practices in accordance with Florida state law, organizational policies, and established clinical guidelines, while collaborating with physicians as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Current Florida Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) license or eligible to obtain.
  • National certification through ANCC or AANP required.
  • BLS required; ACLS may be required depending on clinical setting.
  • Must meet all credentialing and privileging requirements.
  • Master's degree in Nursing required. (If licensed prior to 1998, Master's degree not required by the State of Florida.) Must have current Florida Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) license or eligible to obtain Florida license. Certification by the ANCC or AANP in a specialty area required.
  • Comfortable working in fast paced environment.
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of medical guidelines and procedures regarding examination, therapy and recovery
  • Familiarity with advancements in medical technology and current know-how
  • Problem solving skills and ability to multi-task

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Specific vision requirements include the ability to see at close range, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Possess the ability to fulfill any office activities normally expected in an office setting, to include, but not limited to: remaining seated for periods of time to perform computer based work, participating in filing activity, lifting and carrying office supplies (paper reams, mail, etc.)
  • The position walks, sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves continually during working hours.
  • Frequently lift and/or move over 50 pounds.
  • Fine hand manipulation (keyboarding).
  • Travel may be required to existing or new TOI locations.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one year APRN experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience managing patients independently in an outpatient setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manages an outpatient clinic five (5) days per week.
  • Evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients presenting with acute and chronic conditions.
  • Performs comprehensive history taking and physical examinations.
  • Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic tests including imaging and laboratory studies.
  • Develops and implements individualized treatment and patient management plans.
  • Prescribes medications and therapeutic interventions in accordance with licensure and scope of practice.
  • Provides patient education, counseling, and follow-up care.
  • Documents all patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.
  • Coordinates care with physicians, specialists, and ancillary services as needed.
  • Promotes preventive care and wellness initiatives.
  • Maintains compliance with infection control standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives and clinical best practices.
  • Maintains professional competency through continuing education and licensure requirements.
