Summary : The primary purpose of the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the Oncology Fellowship is to promote and maintain the health of the client across the health care continuum; participate in experiential and academic educational training for advancing nursing practice in oncology across the institution; and participate in professional development activities congruent with the role and function. Oncology nursing excellence is a central pillar in MD Anderson’s worldwide reputation for cancer care. As a Magnet Recognized hospital, we provide our patients with excellent oncology nursing care. The Post Graduate Fellowship in Oncology Nursing is designed to provide advanced practice registered nurses an opportunity to experience a year-long Fellowship in Oncology Nursing at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. The fellowship will include a core curriculum of clinical study that will ensure exposure to the entire spectrum of oncology care from prevention to end-of-life. Fellows will select and pursue an oncology specialty area for clinical focus and practice.
