Riverside is currently seeking a dedicated full time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Rheumatology team in Newport News, Virginia This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a supervising rheumatologist and a multidisciplinary care team to diagnose, treat, and manage musculoskeletal and autoimmune diseases such as arthritis, lupus, and osteoporosis.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
Licensure and certification as required by state and national standards.
Proficiency in diagnostic interpretation and patient assessment.
Strong communication and patient education skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
Manual dexterity and coordination for performing procedures.

Responsibilities

Patient Care: Conduct physical exams, review medical histories, and develop comprehensive treatment plans for rheumatologic conditions.
Diagnostic Interpretation: Order and interpret diagnostic tests including X-rays and bone density scans.
Medical Management: Prescribe medications, monitor effectiveness, and adjust treatment as needed.
Procedures: Perform joint injections and aspirations, occasionally using ultrasound guidance.
Patient Education: Provide education to patients and families on disease management, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
Collaboration: Partner with rheumatologists, nurses, and other specialists to ensure continuity and quality of care.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Administrative Support: Assist with prior authorizations, infusion clinic management, and other administrative tasks as needed.
