Riverside is currently seeking a dedicated full time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Rheumatology team in Newport News, Virginia This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a supervising rheumatologist and a multidisciplinary care team to diagnose, treat, and manage musculoskeletal and autoimmune diseases such as arthritis, lupus, and osteoporosis.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Licensure and certification as required by state and national standards.
  • Proficiency in diagnostic interpretation and patient assessment.
  • Strong communication and patient education skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
  • Manual dexterity and coordination for performing procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Patient Care: Conduct physical exams, review medical histories, and develop comprehensive treatment plans for rheumatologic conditions.
  • Diagnostic Interpretation: Order and interpret diagnostic tests including X-rays and bone density scans.
  • Medical Management: Prescribe medications, monitor effectiveness, and adjust treatment as needed.
  • Procedures: Perform joint injections and aspirations, occasionally using ultrasound guidance.
  • Patient Education: Provide education to patients and families on disease management, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Collaboration: Partner with rheumatologists, nurses, and other specialists to ensure continuity and quality of care.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with prior authorizations, infusion clinic management, and other administrative tasks as needed.
