Requirements

Nurse Practitioner: Master’s in Nursing
NP License
NP Certification
Physician Assistant: Master’s Degree
PA License
Meet comprehensive and professional standards
Hold a current, valid medical license in the state of Virginia (or be eligible to obtain one)
Possess a valid DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances

Responsibilities

Diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions
Conducting annual wellness visits and routine physical exams
Managing chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, and obesity
Administering age-appropriate immunizations and preventive screenings
Performing well-woman exams, including birth control counseling
Educating patients on health maintenance, lifestyle changes, and disease prevention
Collaborating with physicians, specialists, and care teams to ensure coordinated, holistic care
