About The Position

JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Advanced Practice Provider Reports To: Provider Classification: Exempt Exposure Determination: Exposed Position Summary: Are you a compassionate and skilled healthcare professional looking to make a meaningful impact in patient care? We're seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (either Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to join our orthopedic team. In this role, you'll provide high-quality, patient-centered care across the lifespan, collaborating closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to promote optimal health outcomes. Essential Job Functions: Conduct comprehensive orthopedic assessments, including histories, physical exams, and evaluation of musculoskeletal conditions. Interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and laboratory studies to support accurate clinical decision-making. Develop and implement patient-centered treatment plans in collaboration with supervising orthopedic surgeons. Perform in-office procedures as permitted by scope of practice (e.g., joint injections, casting, splinting, wound care, suture removal). Assist orthopedic surgeons in the operating room, including pre-operative preparation, first assist duties, and post-operative care coordination. Manage post-operative and follow-up appointments, monitoring patient progress and adjusting care plans as needed. Provide patient education on conditions, treatment options, post-operative expectations, rehabilitation, and injury prevention. Document all patient encounters, interventions, and care plans accurately and timely in the electronic health record. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to support integrated, high-quality orthopedic care. Ensure adherence to all clinical protocols, regulatory requirements, and standards of care. Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes, safety, and clinic efficiency. Maintain current knowledge of advancements in orthopedic medicine and participate in continuing education activities.

Requirements

  • Current Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license in Kansas, or eligibility for licensure.
  • Graduation from a nationally accredited program.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
  • Strong commitment to patient advocacy, quality healthcare, and effective communication.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous medical office and surgical first assist experience
  • Clinical computer application experience and/ or training
