About The Position

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for providing health care services to patients within the parameters of a standard care or supervisory agreement with an attending physician member of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. The APP collaborates with a physician(s) and other clinicians in providing a full scope of patient care, focusing on preventive health or the management of acute and/or stable chronic conditions. They perform medical services specifically authorized and directed by the credentialing body and the certifying organization through which they hold licensure. Healthcare services provided include care during acute and chronic phases of illness, education, and counseling of individuals and families, health promotion and prevention, and referral to other healthcare providers and community resources when appropriate. This role involves joining an established APP team that manages neurovascular patients independently and in collaboration with board-certified Neurovascular Attendings. This includes inpatient management of the Neurovascular patient population across the continuum of care, including hyper-acute stroke treatments, ICU, and step-down management of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke patients.

Requirements

  • Current certificate of authority to practice as an APRN in the State of Ohio
  • Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program that qualifies the graduate to sit for the certification examination of a national certifying organization recognized by the Ohio Board of Nursing
  • Master of Science Degree in Nursing
  • 0 years of relevant experience required
  • Masters Prepared (for PA-C)
  • Graduate of a PA-C program that qualifies the graduate to sit for the certification examination recognized by the National Certification Commission for Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Eligibility for State of Ohio licensure as a PA-C

Nice To Haves

  • Acute Care NP Degree preferred
  • 0-2 years of ICU or inpatient nursing experience preferred
