In this role, you’ll support post-anesthesia care at our main campus, caring for surgical patients during their immediate recovery period and ensuring safe transitions from the operating room through PACU and onward to inpatient units or discharge.

Requirements

  • Current New York State (NYS) RN and FNP license/registrations
  • Master’s degree in nursing, prescriptive privileges (or eligibility)
  • 2+ years of related clinical experience.
  • PACU and/or critical care experience preferred.
  • Related National NP certification
  • BLS certification and DEA Certificate
  • OR Graduate from an accredited PA program
  • NCCPA certification
  • Active NYS or be qualified for state licensure
  • 2+ years of related clinical experience.
  • PACU and/or critical care experience preferred.
  • BLS certification and DEA Certificate

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical management for medical and surgical patients recovering in the PACU, working closely with anesthesiology, surgical teams, nursing, and inpatient services to ensure safe, efficient post-operative care.
  • Manage post-anesthesia recovery for a wide range of surgical patients, including complex and high-acuity cases.
  • Perform timely assessments, address post-operative complications, and support stabilization during recovery.
  • Partner with anesthesiology and surgical teams to coordinate care plans and patient disposition.
  • Support safe transitions from PACU to inpatient units, step-down, ICU (as needed), or discharge.
  • Participate in rapid assessments and escalation processes within the PACU environment.
  • Maintain strong communication with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
