Carilion Clinic is seeking to recruit a full time APP for our pain management practice. Prior experience in orthopedics or pain management is preferred but is not required. Role involves medication management follow ups, procedure follow ups and some interventional procedures under the supervision of a board certified anesthesiologist/interventional pain physician. Requirements

  • Education: Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing and Nurse Practitioner Program or Accredited Physician Assistant Program.
  • Experience: Minimum of three 3 years of clinical experience preferred. Additional experience may be required for some specialties.
  • Licensure, certification, and/or registration: License or license eligible as an Advance Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant) as set forth by the state of Virginia. If Nurse Practitioner, license to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required. Eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with State regulations and as authorized by the Virginia Boards of Nursing and Medicine.
  • Life Support: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Current PALS/NPR, as required, specific to position. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as required, specific to position.
  • Other Minimum Qualifications: Must demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing requirements of Carilion Clinic, the Virginia Board of Medicine or the Virginia Board of Nursing, and appropriate certifying bodies.
  • Capable of meeting credentialing or job function requirements as needed based on the requirements of the practice and of managed care payors and insurers.
  • Qualifies for malpractice insurance and is accepted by Carilion Clinic’s malpractice insurance carrier.
  • Able to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers.
  • Demonstrates good written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer literacy required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.
