Join Our Urology Team as an Advanced Practice Provider - Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant (APRN/PA) The primary work location is the TMC Campus. Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00 - 5:00. Weekend moonlighting opportunities available. Salary Range: Minimum $117,500.00 - Midpoint $146,500.00 - Maximum $176,500.00 SUMMARY The primary function of the Physician Assistant (PA)/Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) is to assist supervising physicians in providing direct diagnostic and therapeutic patient care. Demonstrate care that is effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable for the treatment of health problems and the promotion of wellness. Counsel and educate patients and their families about disease and illness. This PA/APRN position will function primarily in the outpatient clinic setting and may also assist in the OR.

Requirements

  • MSN Degree requirements as defined by the Texas Board of Nursing (BON) or MA in PA Studies Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners (TSBPAE) for licensure as APRN or PA.
  • Written authorization from BON or TSBPAE to function as APRN or PA.
  • Authorization must align with clinical practice area and patient population.
  • BLS or CPR certification.
  • May be required: Eligible for limited prescriptive authority in Texas.

Nice To Haves

  • AHA BLS, ACLS, or PALS certification as required by patient care area.
  • Two years APP experience

Responsibilities

  • Obtains medical history and performs physical exam on patients.
  • Interprets diagnostic tests and radiographic results and come up with a management plan for patients in concert with faculty physicians.
  • Takes responsibility for patient assessment, triage, and therapeutic management of patient needs as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Documents in chart for all patients seen.
  • Reviews/orders diagnostic tests and radiographic results.
  • Formulates and manages patient treatment plans and outcomes.
  • Performs as first or second assist on operative cases using fine motor skills and manual dexterity.
  • Performs procedures, prescribes treatment, and signs prescriptions in accordance with institution and state requirements.
  • Screens physician calls to educate patient/family on care and resources.
  • Collaborates in research projects, formulates protocols, and applies research to practice.
  • Other duties as assigned.
