About The Position

Aultman Medical Group is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Urology team with primary assignment at Aultman Alliance Community Hospital. This role functions in an expanded nursing capacity, performing medical diagnosis and minor procedures, prescribing therapeutic measures, and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in close collaboration with our physicians. The APP will primarily serve in the outpatient office, with inpatient responsibilities as consulted, working within a collaborative team of caregivers and support staff. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated provider to practice at the top of their scope! The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient care in collaboration with the urology team.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited MSN program
  • Certified by AANP or AANCC as a nurse practitioner
  • Certification by qualifying agency in area of specialty must be achieved within two (2) years of staff appointment (as required)
  • Credentialed by the medical staff in accordance with current policy or procedure.
  • Maintain BLS and/or ACLS provider certification and provide evidence of these.
  • A health care provider in good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health insurance programs, i.e. not excluded from participation in Medicare, Medicaid, or any other federal or state health insurance program.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years previous experience in a nurse practitioner role (preferred, not required).
  • One (1) year of experience serving in a leadership role (preferred, not required).
  • Five (5) years clinical experience (preferred in urology setting, not required).

Responsibilities

  • Outpatient Care: Perform patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic and lab studies, prescribe medications, manage ongoing urologic conditions (e.g., BPH, incontinence, erectile dysfunction, post-op follow-up), and provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care. Support clinical staff with medication guidance and procedure-related care such as catheter or stoma management.
  • Inpatient Care: Conduct consultations, perform physical exams, participate in daily rounds, order appropriate tests and treatments, and assist in developing and revising care plans with the attending physician. Provide discharge planning, patient/family education, and serve as a liaison between patients, families, and the care team.
  • Collaborative Practice: Partner with physicians and nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care. Participate in peer review, maintain clinical competencies, and meet credentialing requirements.
  • Professional Development: Stay current within the APP role, utilize electronic medical record systems (Cerner), and actively engage in ongoing education and compliance standards.
