About The Position

Turnwell Mental Health of Tampa Bay is a clinician-led, integrated mental health group with a mission to expand access to high-quality care in underserved markets. Our primary focus is mental/behavioral health and integrative medicine services. Turnwell provides administrative support so our medical professionals can do what they do best: focus on patient care. We are looking for an APP with a friendly demeanor and strong analytical abilities to join our clinical team of board-certified psychiatrists and therapists as we continue to grow and serve the area. We seek a motivated and dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with mental health training to join our team at our outpatient mental health clinic in Tampa Bay. The ideal candidate will be dependable, punctual, and able to communicate professionally with clients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.

Requirements

  • Must possess or obtain an active & unrestricted license to practice in Florida.
  • Eligible for credentialing with all major insurance plans and to participate in Medicare.
  • Must be Florida Blue credentialed
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of psychiatric disorders and treatments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency (will be trained on our system) with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Dependable, punctual, and professional in all interactions.

Nice To Haves

  • Training or experience in an outpatient mental health setting is preferred.
  • Preferred to possess a current board certification by a national certifying body as a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment plans for patients.
  • Comfortable seeing patients for mental health and/or addiction treatment.
  • Prescribe and manage medications, including monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and other healthcare providers.
  • Offer patient education and counseling to promote mental health and wellness.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
  • Utilize electronic health records (EHR) effectively for patient management.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
  • Stay current with best practices and emerging trends in mental health care.
  • Complete end-of-day summaries to ensure smooth transitions and clear communication with all team members
  • Adhere to all clinic policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
