About The Position

Landmark Hospital of Columbia is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to join its Hospitalist team. This is a small, private Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospital where advanced practice providers collaborate with Hospitalists, specialists, and an interdisciplinary team to meet patient needs. Patients are medically complex with an average length of stay of 25-30 days, allowing for meaningful connections and clinical skill expansion. The PA is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting care activities according to hospital standards, ensuring efficient, effective, and quality patient care, and collaborating daily with in-house hospitalists and specialists. Landmark Hospitals is a privately owned critical care hospital system, licensed as acute care hospitals and accredited as LTACHs, specializing in medically complex patients. The work environment is collaborative and supportive, with facilities averaging 30-35 beds, fostering intensive care and a multidisciplinary team approach. Requirements

  • Physician's Assistant degree, with clinical specialization preparation to function in an expanded role
  • Physician's Assistant license in the State where the position is located
  • Minimum 1-3 years of clinical experience, preferably in med surg/ICU/ER
  • BLS-required upon hire
  • ACLS (upon hire or obtained within first 90 days)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Superior analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Team, detail, and goal-oriented
  • Positive, professional, and empathetic demeanor

Responsibilities

  • Providing care to a selected population of patients
  • Manages the care of patients with medically complex problems that require advanced clinical skills
  • Enhancing patient care by integrating the competencies of clinical practice, education, consultation, and research
  • Communicating with physicians and other clinical staff
