Requirements
Graduated from an accredited physician assistant program.
Licensed Physician Assistant in the State of Illinois, certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and CPR certification.

Responsibilities
Perform office evaluation of new patients and determine treatment plans in conjunction with the attending physician.
Perform follow-up care for previous patients of the practice and treat appropriately.
Assist in surgery at the Hospital and Ambulatory Surgery Center.
Perform pre-operative education and routine post-operative care.
Provide weekend coverage for hospital rounds and participate in daily rounds at the hospital.
Prescribe legend and controlled substances.
Order appropriate lab work and diagnostic testing.
Monitor, review and interpret results of tests.
Accurately and thoroughly document care given to patients.
Complete hospital discharge summaries and admitting history and physicals.
Bill patients according to established procedures.
