The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant is a primary clinical service provider on the ED team, working collaboratively with Family Medicine attending physicians and Chatham Hospital nursing staff to provide high quality, cost effective and seamless care to patients in the Chatham ED. The NP/PA is expected to perform duties and responsibilities with significant autonomy and self-direction. The NP/PA will provide direct care including diagnosis, medication management, ordering of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and ensuring timely and accurate documentation of all services. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as proven excellence in clinical care including urgent and emergency care. Summary: An Advanced Practice Provider (APP) functions as part of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in accordance with privileges approved by the credentialing committee to provide high quality, cost effective care to patients within the APPs scope of practice in collaboration with a supervising physician. The APP reflects the mission, vision, and values of the organization, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and other regulatory and accreditation standards.
