About The Position

Advanced Practice Provider: Headache Medicine Position Highlights: UW Health Northern Illinois is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our expanding Headache Medicine team. As a leading provider of neurological care, we are committed to advancing headache and migraine treatments through patient-centered care and innovative therapies. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing subspecialty within a collaborative and supportive healthcare environment. Your clinical support includes: Evaluation and management of a wide range of headache disorders, including migraine, cluster headaches, concussion care and tension-type headaches Potential administration of advanced treatment modalities such as Botox injections for chronic migraine and nerve blocks Collaboration with pain management, physical therapy, and behavioral health specialists to provide comprehensive care plans Utilization of advanced imaging and diagnostic tools to support clinical decision-making Partnering with physicians and referring providers to ensure timely and effective patient care Participation in patient education and support efforts to improve self-management of chronic headache conditions Teaching health care students at all levels of education Qualifications: Master’s degree or doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Illinois, or ability to obtain upon hire Clinical experience in neurology, pain management, or internal medicine preferred Strong diagnostic and procedural skills Benefits UW Health offers a highly competitive salary guarantee and other incentives. Requirements

  • Master’s degree or doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Illinois, or ability to obtain upon hire
  • Strong diagnostic and procedural skills

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical experience in neurology, pain management, or internal medicine preferred
