Cardiac Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) Join our dynamic cardiology team and provide advanced care for patients with cardiovascular conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role includes leadership responsibilities within our growing structural heart program. Key Responsibilities: Perform comprehensive cardiovascular assessments Provide pre- and post-operative care for invasive cardiology patients (Interventional and EP) Manage patients in PACU, cath lab, EP lab, and post-procedure units Order and interpret diagnostic tests Develop treatment plans with cardiologists and surgeons Serve as lead provider and coordinator for structural heart program (TAVR, Watchman, PFO) Educate patients and families; ensure accurate EHR documentation Qualifications: Graduate of accredited PA or NP program; current MA licensure BLS and ACLS required, certification by credentialing body Cardiology and/or cardiothoracic surgery experience strongly preferred Strong clinical judgment and communication skills Able to work independently and take initiative Schedule: This role requires flexibility to work varying shifts within our operating hours of 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current licensure as a PA in the state of employment
  • National certification by an approved credentialing body (e.g., NCCPA)
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
  • Clinical experience in acute or procedural care settings preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced hospital and outpatient environments
  • May include evening, weekend, holiday, or on-call responsibilities depending on clinical needs
  • Exposure to high-acuity patient populations and critical care scenarios

Nice To Haves

  • Cardiology and/or cardiothoracic surgery experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough patient assessments including histories and physical examinations
  • Provide pre- and post-procedural or surgical care across various settings
  • Monitor and manage patients in procedural areas and recovery units as needed
  • Order, interpret, and act upon appropriate diagnostic tests (e.g., lab work, imaging, EKGs)
  • Collaborate with physicians and other providers to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Serve as a point of contact for patients, families, and caregivers, ensuring education and coordination throughout the continuum of care
  • Document clinical findings and treatment plans accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support patient care protocols
