About The Position

Physicians’ Primary Care of Southwest Florida is a premier physician-owned and managed practice with locations in Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Estero, and Lehigh Acres. PPC is growing and we are seeking Advanced Practice Providers (APRN or PA) to join our team. We have opportunities in our Adult Medicine division in locations across Lee County. Our Advanced Practice Providers are responsible for providing primary care services including assessing and managing patients following established standards and practices. Essential Functions: Oversee the medical care of patients under the supervision of a physician. Develop and maintain a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with providers, staff, and patients. Perform duties related to patient care and patient/family education. Maintains patient charts, identifies health risk factors, prescribes medications, and makes referrals as necessary. Instruct patient/family regarding medications and treatments. Educates patients regarding health and illness prevention, Recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs. Collaborate with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients. Maintain the strictest confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations

Requirements

  • BSN, MSN.
  • Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program.
  • Minimum of two years of professional nursing experience.
  • A current APRN or PA license in the State of Florida.
  • Knowledge of APP principles and techniques.
  • Knowledge of methods ensuring safe working environment for patient, family and staff including using appropriate personal protection equipment.
  • Skill in taking medical histories to assess medical conditions and interpret findings.
  • Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques of professional nursing to provide ongoing patient care.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of patient information.
  • Ability to assess a situation, consider alternatives and choose an appropriate course of action.
  • Ability to participate effectively as a team member by supporting change, decisions, and other staff, and by managing conflict appropriately.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of APP experience preferred.
