Advanced Practice Provider (APRN/PA) Advanced Heart Failure
About The Position
Tampa General Hospital (TGH) is seeking a passionate and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our expanding Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology team. As a regional leader in heart transplant and mechanical circulatory support, TGH offers a dynamic and collaborative environment for providers committed to excellence in patient care. As an APP on our Advanced Heart Failure team, you will work closely with attending physicians to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to high-acuity, complex cardiac patients on a busy, fast-paced service. This is a variable position that includes rotation through nights, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- Master's degree Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- License - Issued by Florida or Compact State Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant
- Certification Acute Care certification, Adult Gerontology Acute Care certification or Nationally Accredited Physician Assistant Board certification
- Experience as Advanced Heart Failure, Transplant, and General Cardiology experience required
Responsibilities
- Evaluating and admitting new patients
- Managing inpatient care, including ICU-level patients requiring advanced hemodynamic support
- Caring for patients with advanced mechanical circulatory support devices (LVADs, IABP, Impella CP/5.5/RP Flex, ECMO)
- Overseeing chronic inotrope therapy
- Supporting pre- and post-operative heart transplant recipients
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes for critically ill patients
