APP Manager - Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner – Clinical & Administrative Clinical: Provide a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains and minor infections. Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary. Lead clinical best practice initiatives and direct provider coaching on best care delivery. Administrative: Provide a wide variety of administrative duties as APP leader on the clinical leadership team. Core Responsibilities: - Responsible for overall management and coordination of APPs within the Service Line -Direct supervisor for front line APPs -Collaborates on APP optimization strategy for service line, including role of APPs as members of the care team, APP competencies and professional advancement ladder. -Manages operationalization of APP practice within service line in conjunction with APP leads, site leaders and collaborating physicians. -Supervises and regularly meets with APPs to ensure ongoing communication and prompt identification of opportunities. -Coaches APPs with the service line, including front line APPs and direct report APP leads -Monitors and works with service line on overall APP performance: tracks clinical, operational and financial metrics for APPs, updates progress and status of APP initiatives, anticipates and flags potential issues and identifies solutions. Additional Responsibilities : - Promotes psychological safety among all APPs, positively communicates change, constantly strives for process and quality improvement, upholds and promotes Inova-GoHealth mission, vision, values and care imperatives. Drives EMR training and efficacy, procedure/skills training, and act as a project implementation manager for special projects and initiatives. In-clinic mentoring, real-time observation and direct feedback to APP’s will be expected. APP manager, along with clinical leadership team, will assist with schedule management, chart review, patient quality/satisfaction initiatives, cover assigned RLP duties during sick-leave or PTO, and any other administrative duties at the discretion of the Medical Director. APP manager will be active member of clinical leadership meetings and collaboratively disseminate best practices to all providers and staff. Qualified applicants should have the ability to listen, gather information, validate data, communicate effectively, and have strong customer satisfaction skills.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree and minimum 4 (+) years’ experience
  • Minimum 12 months experience in an Emergency Department/urgent care or similar clinical environment required
  • Adult and pediatric practice experience required
  • National Certification
  • Active state medical licensure
  • Active state DEA
  • BLS and ACLS Certification
  • Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting
  • Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, etc.
  • High Level of interpersonal skills for effective communication
  • Stands for and drives excellence
  • Actively participates in clinical practice (75% of time)

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for delivery of medical care

Responsibilities

  • Examining and treating patients
  • Completion of timely documentation and charting
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, EKGs and X-rays
  • Making diagnoses and prescribing appropriate medications
  • Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting
  • Educating and counseling patients
  • Ordering and/or providing medications and vaccines for patients
  • Referring patients for additional emergency or specialty care
  • Assisting and supervising staff engaged in medical services
  • Consulting with collaborating escalation physician on patient care management per Escalation policy
  • Locations of clinics to be staffed will be based on clinic need and will be at the discretion of the Medical Director. Every effort will be made to minimize travel distances, but clinic needs as determined by the Medical Director will be the deciding factor.

  • Assist with administrative duties such as schedule management, chart review, patient quality/satisfaction initiatives, special project implementation manager, and any other administrative duties at the discretion of the Medical Director.
  • Assist with provider on-boarding, EMR and skills training, and MA-RT clinical training (POCT, splints, etc.)
  • Other duties as directed by the Medical Director, in service of improving NPS/ patient satisfaction, clinical quality, efficiency, profitability, and financial viability
