About The Position

Conducts psychiatric evaluation/medical management and related therapeutic services. Aids in formulating diagnostic impressions based on DSM-V criteria in collaboration with the psychiatrist and other treatment members. May practice in the role of therapist, providing individual and/or group psychotherapy, as needed. Can write prescriptions for non-controlled substances. Will be in verbal and/or electronic contact with the supervisory psychiatrist. Attends meetings as required. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the consumers served. The individual demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the consumer population served. He or she must be able to assess and interpret data about the consumer’s status in order to identify each consumer’s needs and provide the appropriate care, including age-related care, needed by the consumer group. As needs arise in the Mental Health staffing department we may add or change assignments. Hours: 10 hours per month or as needed. Primary hours include afternoons/evenings after school and/or weekends. No holiday work required. Hybrid position between on-site at the program and remote work.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in psychiatric/mental health specialization or equivalent with prescriptive authority
  • Minimum of three years psychiatric nursing experience, one year post graduate preferred.
  • Current license in New Jersey required.
