About The Position

The Advanced Practice Esthetician delivers elevated, clinically inspired skincare services that align with Grand View Lodge’s reputation for warm, genuine hospitality. This role combines technical expertise in advanced skincare including HydraFacial-type services, with a relaxing, guest-centered spa experience. The Advanced Practice Esthetician ensures all treatments are performed safely, in compliance with Minnesota Board of Cosmetology regulations for Advanced Practice Esthetics, and in accordance with Grand View Lodge standards, protocols, and service culture. Requirements

  • Current Minnesota Advanced Practice Esthetician license in good standing (Operator or Salon Manager level, as appropriate for role).
  • Completion of an approved Advanced Practice Esthetics program (typically 500 hours beyond basic esthetics/cosmetology).
  • Strong knowledge of skin anatomy, cosmetic chemistry, advanced exfoliation, and energy-based modalities used within AP esthetics.
  • Previous experience performing facials and basic esthetic services in a spa, resort, clinic, or med-spa environment.
  • Excellent guest service skills with a professional, polished demeanor.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on resort business levels.

Nice To Haves

  • 1–3+ years of experience as an Advanced Practice Esthetician or equivalent advanced skincare role.
  • Experience with resort or destination spa clientele and pace.
  • Familiarity with HydraFacial-type devices and other advanced modalities used at Grand View Lodge.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome each guest with a warm, professional, and personalized greeting, setting the tone for a relaxing, restorative visit.
  • Perform a wide range of skincare services within the Advanced Practice Esthetician scope of practice, which may include: Advanced facials and treatment protocols HydraFacial-type services Advanced chemical exfoliation Lymphatic drainage techniques
  • Conduct thorough consultations, including skin analysis, lifestyle/contraindication review, and treatment planning tailored to guest goals.
  • Educate guests on skincare routines, product recommendations, and follow-up services to support long-term skin health.
  • Uphold service timing standards while maintaining a calm, unhurried guest experience.
  • Perform all services in strict accordance with Minnesota Statutes/Rules for esthetics and advanced practice esthetics, including scope of practice limitations and infection control requirements.
  • Maintain proper sanitation and disinfection of treatment rooms, tools, equipment, and linens between every guest, following Grand View Lodge and Board of Cosmetology standards.
  • Review guest intake forms before each service; identify contraindications and adjust or decline services when appropriate, referring to medical providers when concerns fall outside esthetic scope.
  • Stay current with continuing education (CE) requirements and maintain active Minnesota Advanced Practice Esthetician licensure.
  • Adhere to all resort safety, emergency, and incident-reporting procedures.
  • Recommend professional skincare products that support each guest’s treatment plan and home-care routine.
  • Educate guests on product usage and benefits to drive retail sales in an ethical, needs-based way.
  • Promote add-on services, series packages, and return visits that genuinely benefit the guest and support department revenue goals.
  • Accurately track services, upgrades, and retail sales in the point-of-sale system.
  • Collaborate closely with Spa & Wellness team members, including massage therapists, nail technicians, and guest service staff, to create a cohesive, memorable guest experience.
  • Participate in pre-shift meetings, training sessions, and team huddles.
  • Support a culture of respect, accountability, and hospitality consistent with Grand View Lodge’s values.
  • Assist with spa housekeeping tasks (laundry, stocking, room resets, refresh of guest spaces) as needed to ensure a clean, welcoming environment.
  • Arrive prepared and on time for scheduled shifts and appointments; manage time effectively between services.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential guest notes and treatment records in spa software, as required.
  • Communicate schedule changes, equipment issues, and supply needs promptly to leadership.
  • Contribute to menu development and enhancement by offering feedback on service protocols, products, and trends in advanced esthetics.
