About The Position

Provide distributive pharmacy services and technical support for the Pharmacist. Perform activities or tasks in specialty pharmacy services. Perform specialized duties such as hazardous drug compounding, medication history, nuclear, and Patient Assistance Program (PAP) as a pharmacy technician. Refill and maintain automated dispensing system. Prepare orders, maintains inventory, and repackages bulk medications. Receive and store incoming supplies. Serve as a liaison between pharmacy, patient and health professionals by providing necessary information. Communicate with external resources such as retail pharmacies, provider officers, and data exchanges. Identify and assist with patient medication access including, benefit investigation, prior authorization, and financial assistance. Assist Pharmacist in preparation of patient education materials. May give immunizations in accordance with state laws.

Requirements

  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Registration with the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board required. Must provide proof of application to register with the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board and once registration is granted, must be maintained.
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
