Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Active AZ Pharmacy Technician license.
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certified.
  • Completion of ASHP Sterile Product Preparation or PTCB Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician preferred.
  • At least six (6) months of sterile compounding experience.

  • Completion of ASHP Sterile Product Preparation or PTCB Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Train pharmacy staff on proper use of Pharmacy Keeper, Compound 360, and associated tools.
  • Maintain and update Compounding 360 (C360) with daily, weekly, monthly, and annual checklist.
  • Oversee and conduct fingertip testing for all pharmacy staff to ensure compliance with USP standards.
  • Document and analyze test results, taking corrective actions as needed.
  • Perform regular surface sampling in cleanrooms and compounding areas.
  • Analyze results to identify and address contamination risks.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all testing, training, and compliance activities.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to implement corrective actions and improvements.
  • Ensure all staff have up-to-date training (e.g., fingertip glove test, media filling testing).
  • Audit documentation of required cleaning processes for sterile compounding areas.
  • Assist in the preparation and compounding of sterile and non-sterile compounding areas.
  • Stay current on updates to USP 797, USP 800, and other applicable guidelines.
  • Participate in regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Staff in both main and cancer center pharmacies as needed.
  • Assist with special projects and ensure task prioritization and workflow efficiency.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Supervise and provide work directions to technicians and trainees.
