As an Advanced Medical Office Clerk, you will be the backbone of clinical administrative operations, ensuring smooth clinic flow and exceptional patient experience for Soldiers and their families. Spectrum Healthcare Resources (SHR) was established in 1988 to deliver systems and processes designed to meet the unique needs of Military and VA Health Systems. SHR is a leading organization that provides physician and clinical staffing and management services to United States Military Treatment Facilities, VA clinics and other Federal Agencies through various contracting vehicles. A Joint Commission Health Care Staffing Services firm, SHR is the military staffing division of TeamHealth, a Nationwide organization that serves 850 civilian and military hospitals with a team of 9,600 affiliated health care professionals.

Requirements

  • Minimum 50 WPM typing speed
  • Strong grammar, spelling, and written communication skills
  • Professional phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
  • 1+ year experience in medical scheduling or healthcare administrative support
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems
  • Proficient with standard office equipment and software
  • Understanding of medical confidentiality and compliance standards
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic medical terminology knowledge required

Nice To Haves

  • RHIT or RHIA certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Schedule patient appointments and manage clinic templates
  • Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR)
  • Ensure accurate documentation and medical record handling
  • Provide professional front desk and phone support
  • Process and file medical documentation in compliance with JCAHO/AAAHC standards
  • Support patient workload tracking and clinic readiness
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold HIPAA standards
