About The Position

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME) will ensure programs are launched with capable and repeatable and meets customer and TI Automotive requirements in terms of quality, cycle time, scrap, and quoted run at rate. This role is responsible for Canada region and UPG and can change as per business needs. Furthermore, it is also the responsibility of the employee to contribute to a positive work environment where fairness, equity and non-discriminatory practices are the standard. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/manufacturing.
  • Strong drive for results and ability to complete tasks without direction.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in launch engineering, manufacturing, and/or quality.
  • Hands on experience with all tools of IATF16949 especially APQP, PFMEA, PPAP, etc.
  • Working knowledge of KAIZEN, SPC, GD&T, and Gage R&R.
  • Hands on experience in manufacturing, knowledge on how to build quality parts, and understands Quality Systems.
  • Overall flexibility due to frequent plan changes driven by unforeseen current issues.
  • Frequent travel (approx. 50%) is required to attend tool trials and other launch activities.

Responsibilities

  • As per RASIC, support design review process for product and process by making sure historical capability and feasibility data from similar or past programs are considered.
  • Ensure Tooling, Secondary fixtures are bought off by the plant, meeting the buy-off requirements as per TI Automotive standards.
  • Support Pre-production build events as per RASIC at the plant as well as at the tool shop and ensure build requirements are met.
  • Ensure plant performs enough internal burst builds to prepare for passing customer Run at Rate as quoted or better
  • Ensure Core documents (Process Flow, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan) capture all customer requirements based on Voice of Customer, Field rejections, Lessons Learned, and Historical Quality issues.
  • Ensure plant launch team reviews and approves core documents.
  • Ensure List of Special Characteristics (Customer identified and ABC identified) is developed as per RASIC and cascaded through all core documents including standardized work instructions, Process Flow, DFMEA and PFMEA.
  • Responsible to ensure all deliverable are met and signed off before start of production and post launch review as per RASIC. This includes: LMSO, containment and scrap reduction, equipment and work area review, packaging requirements, cost budget, workforce planning support, launch system effectiveness, plant launch readiness, run at rate, material orders, PSO audit, etc.
  • Perform Launch Readiness audits, identify open issues and get them closed to ensure successful launch.
  • Support plants to obtain on time PPAP.
  • Track Plant Launch performance using APQP Gate review status.
  • Conduct Program reviews with Plant and CBU team and prepare plants for Launch readiness.
