About The Position

The Cardiology Fellow learns and practices medical care to heart and vascular patients in a supportive and collaborative environment. The Cardiology Fellow works closely with experienced medical professionals to gain hands-on clinical experience and develop specialized skills in cardiovascular care, providing the Cardiology Fellow with valuable experience and skills necessary to pursue a rewarding career in heart and vascular medicine. Requirements

  • Certification - None Required
  • Licensure - Physician Upon Start; Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia
  • Experience - Physician Residency; Successful completion of physician residency program
  • Education - Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution

Responsibilities

  • Works alongside physicians and attends medical rounds to evaluate patients and monitor their progress.
  • Attends and participate in multidisciplinary clinical conferences and research meetings.
  • Performs routine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and assists in complex surgical procedures as instructed.
  • Provides support to other healthcare professionals in the assessment and management of cardiovascular patients.
  • Monitors patient progress, communicates effectively with patients and their families, and provides education about disease prevention and management.
  • Collaborates with other medical staff members in the management of clinical cases, develops treatment plans, and provides ongoing care to patients.
  • Participates in ongoing professional development activities to increase knowledge and skills in their field of specialty.
  • May perform additional duties as assigned.
