About The Position

Build your Career. Make a Difference. Presbyterian is hiring a skilled GI Lab Technician to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients in an Outpatient Clinic. Common responsibilities include assisting the provider with procedures, setting up equipment, and supplies. High level disinfection of all instruments and equipment. Requirements

  • Minimum of two years' experience in a GI Lab.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with advanced endoscopic procedures required.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • BLS Certification required at time of hire.
  • National GI/Endoscopy Tech Certification required.
  • GI Technical Specialist (GTS) or Advanced GI Technical Specialist (AGTS) issued through SGNA is required.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge of advanced endoscopic procedures.
  • Maintain current knowledge of various equipment, procedures and supplies.
  • Applies knowledge related to emergency situations.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills in relation to anticipating the needs of the patient and the endoscopist.
  • Adheres to proper procedures of aseptic technique and safety in the use of instruments and equipment.
  • Secures and prepares all supplies and instruments required for diagnostics and therapeutic intervention before procedures.
  • Position and re-position patient during procedures.
  • Helps monitor patients during procedure.
  • Provide supportive care during the pre-operative phase.
