Your Impact Pearce is looking for Lead Wind Technicians across all of our Wind teams. We are hiring for our Major Component Exchange teams (crane/non crane work), Composite Blade, Up Tower Repair, Troubleshooting and Maintenance teams. Our Certified Wind Technicians carry out and lead teams in daily tasks such as cleaning, organizing, assembly, service, and/or repairs to wind turbine generators, blades and related equipment and facilities. Requirements

  • GWO Certifications
  • 4+ years of wind turbine experience in any of the following areas Composites, MCE, Advanced Troubleshooting, Maintenance, Cleaning.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety of self, crew and community
  • Desire and ability to lead crews
  • Experience reading schematics and planning complex repairs and/or installations
  • One or more certifications in tower climbing, SRK 11, GWO, SGRE Blade Repair, GE LOTO

Nice To Haves

  • GE LOTO Certification highly desired
  • Any platform specific LOTO Certified.

Responsibilities

  • Create plans and oversee lifting operations following skills verification of large components for equipment at heights over 250’.
  • Conduct safe and efficient repairs to all Wind Turbine electrical systems.
  • Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) of equipment as an Authorized Person.
  • Evaluate, inspect, diagnose and document internal and external composite damage, then photograph and assemble documentation as required.
  • Perform coating and structural repairs of internal and external composite structures, such as wind turbine blades and nacelles.
  • Modify and repair fiberglass, carbon fiber, resin and other composite materials as needed.
  • Conduct assembly, repair and maintenance of equipment on Siemens, GE, and/or Gamesa turbines following specific instructions when provided.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and service on wind turbines, including inspections, component checks, lubrication, and software updates.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems on wind turbines and related equipment.
  • All of our lead technicians should be laser focused on safety, know how to conduct pre-task planning, Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs), and Risk Assessments (RAs), comfortable communicating with our clients and setting an example for their team.
